Mrs. Heather Smith

I am so blessed to be able to teach at MVCA! Overall, this will be my 8th year here

at MVCA, and my first as the Elementary Principal.

I was born and raised in the Kansas City, MO area and graduated from

Missouri Western State University with a bachelor’s degree in Early

Childhood/Elementary Education and then earned my master’s degree in

Collaborative Learning and Teaching from Graceland University. This will be my

20th year teaching with 6 of those years homeschooling my children. The other

14 years were spent teaching 5 years in a public school in MO, teaching 2 years

of preschool, and then 8 years at MVCA teaching a combined 1st and 2nd grade

class for 2 years, substitute teaching for a year, teaching a combined 5th and

6th grade class for 1 year, and finally teaching 3 years of 5th grade.

My husband and I have been married for 22 years and we have 3 amazing

daughters, 1 dog, and 5 cats. I enjoy reading and sports, but my favorite thing

to do is to spend time with my family camping, hiking, attending plays or just

binge-watching TV shows.

I look forward to what God is going to do at MVCA. I feel privileged to get

to be a part of such a wonderful group of staff, students, and families!
