MVCA Athletics
Mission Valley Christian Academy athletics exists to provide a competitive, Christ-centered sports program that challenges student-athletes spiritually, physically, and mentally by teaching life principles that will help the student-athlete to be productive and responsible young adults. All of our sports and clubs are open to homeschool families.
Our Vision is to build Champions for Christ, Champions for life.
The MVCA sports program desires to engage the student athletes in a balanced environment of high-level competition and a positive athletic experience that is marked with discipline, camaraderie, tradition, and respect. Even though winning is important, it is not first on the list determining success. Developing a student with integrity who loves God is the primary focus. The athletic program at Mission Valley Christian Academy is an integral part of the total school program.
Through these programs, students have the opportunity to develop physical skills and abilities, to work toward goals with other members of a group, and to express and promote Christian values and attitudes in a competitive atmosphere. MVCA is committed to cultivating a culture of achievement and respect, one that is unified and motivated by our value of character, community, and championship.
Character
Develop Christ-centered character traits so that it will lead to personal growth.
Community
Learn how to work with others as a team in pursuit of a common goal so that they can perform and adhere to codes of fairness and respect for all.
Championship
Embrace self-discipline so that it will allow one to take their talents to the highest levels of performance – in both sports and spiritual maturity. So that that they may be champions in athletics and in life.
Volleyball
MVCA’s Volleyball program has been steadily growing over the last 4 years! The first official MVCA Volleyball Team to compete in the MCAA was started in the Fall of 2019 and coached by Bailey Clements, most of the team was playing for their first time and had a blast learning to come together as a team. The 2020 season was coached by Mr. Russell and Tyler Williams, the lady Eagles finished the season 4 and 4 with a great showing for the season. As the team was growing, in 2021 MVCA was not sure of entering into the Varsity play for MCAA or not, but ultimately decided to run in the JV field for one more year. Coach Amber Dailey really brought the team together under the three C’s that define our values for the athletics programs – Character, Community, and Championship. The Eagles had a winning season and were able to compete with some of the Varsity teams from the MCAA at the end of the 2021 season. In the Fall of 2022, we will had both a Varsity and Junior Varsity Team competing in the MCAA!
We expect practices to run Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday each week from 4 to 630 pm during the school year, but will likely be 430-630pm in August until school starts. Our first match is on Aug 28th! Our program fee is only $150 per player and homeschool students are welcome to join our teams.
